Data Import and Reconciliation

Bring existing customers, assets, personnel, and report references into NDT Pilot, and verify them.

Intended for: AdministratorsAdministrator GuidesLast updated 2026-09-18

Required permissions: Admin role, typically performed during onboarding with support.

Import existing records so your team starts with connected data instead of a blank platform.

Before you begin

  • Your existing data in a spreadsheet (customers, sites, assets, personnel)
  • A small test sample agreed with your team

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

Export and clean your source data

One row per record; consistent naming for companies and sites; dates in YYYY-MM-DD format.

  2. 2

    Import the sample first

Start with a small sample so formats can be verified before a full import.

  3. 3

    Reconcile

Review the imported sample with your team: correct names, link sites to the right customers, confirm asset serial numbers.

  4. 4

    Import the remainder

Once the sample is clean, import the rest, then spot-check records across the register pages.

Expected result

Your registers are populated and trustworthy.

What happens next

Check that customer contact emails are the ones real people use, portal linking depends on them.

Important

  • Deleting records is permanent. Always reconcile a sample before large changes, and work with support when cleaning up mistakes.

Troubleshooting

Import rejected rows

Read the per-row reason, usually a missing required field (for example an asset without a serial number), fix the source and re-import those rows.
